About AIG
The AIG stands for American International Group, Inc, and it is a major American insurance corporation based in New York City. It
has its Europe based HQ in Croydon in London, England. AIG is a world leaders in insurance and financial services, is the
leading international insurance organization with operations in more than 130 countries. AIG is the fourth-largest company in
the world according to the 2006 Forbes Global 2000 list. AIG was founded in 1919 by Cornelius Vander Starr in Shanghai,
China. Starr was the first Westerner in Shanghai to sell insurance to the Chinese. When his business was successful there, he
expanded to Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. AIG has four principal business parts:
General Insurance:
In General Insurance, the AIG includes the largest U.S. underwriters of commercial and industrial insurance, the most
extensive international property-casualty network, a personal lines business with an emphasis on auto insurance and
high-net-worth clients and mortgage guaranty insurance operations. AIG's leadership is a result of its underwriting skill,
innovative insurance solutions, financial strength, superior service and responsive claims handling.
Life Insurance & Retirement Services:
Its global Life Insurance businesses make up the most extensive network of any life insurer. Strategies for enhancing growth
focus on developing new markets, expanding distribution channels and broadening product offerings. AIG has one of the premier
Retirement Services businesses in the United States. It is having an extensive international retirement services network to
meet the growing needs of groups and individuals in countries worldwide.
Financial Services:
In Financial Services, the AIG is specialized in aircraft and equipment leasing, consumer finance, capital markets and
insurance premium finance. These businesses complement AIG’s core insurance operations and achieve a competitive advantage by
capitalizing on opportunities throughout the AIG global network.
Asset Management:
In Asset Management Group businesses, the Aig insurance include institutional and broker-dealer services, retail asset management,
private banking and spread-based investment business from the sale of guaranteed investment contracts, as well as the
management of AIG insurance invested assets. Businesses in the Group leverage AIG’s deep knowledge of markets around the
world and expertise in a wide range of asset classes.

AIG simply doesn't care. I've been on permanent disability for nearly 4 years after being injured working as a civilian contractor in a war zone. For some unknown reason, my payments stopped. They simply will not respond, nor does the Department of Labor respond or offer any direction. They seem to be above the law.. |

Aigreed says it all My wife was hurt on the job 2yrs ago no medical treatment has been paid nothing to date several judgements still nothing they are above the law with govenors senators and congressmen and judges on the payroll they are crooks and thugs mafia style their insurance is not worth the paper they will not pay claims. |

I have not been impressed with AIG. I do not receive annual reports nor letters concerning my policy. I have not heard from them since I signed the papers, yet money is still taken. I would like to cancel my policy and not conduct any more business affairs with AIG. It is very difficult to get in touch with them and the agent I signed with has changed jobs. I do not know my agent nor have I received anything from him. Everytime I call or email someone, no one seems to know what to say or how to help. It is very frustrating!!!!!. |

My company provides contracted security for U.S. Army base. I couldn't be happier with my company's choice of selecting AIG as it's insurance provider. Several times AIG has indeed shown it's motto "the strength to be there" as one that rings true. They have demonstrated vigorous defense of my company against former employees who have fabricated work related injuries, and have also marginalized recovery attempts against employees who have been legitimately injured at work, with equal enthusiasm. We have yet to see any of the cases actually make it to court, and most have been settled out of court with minimal loss of profit to my company. The tenacity and clever techniques displayed by AIG's recovery agents is top-notch and they are true representatives of Corporate interest.. |

I have had AIG for about 3 years and figured I had a pretty good service, I got into an auto accident back in December where I was hit from behind, in traffic, well I filed my claim and they were talkin about how they were gonna go after the girl that hit me, which they paid to get my car fixed but used my deductiable, well now I have just found out that my insurance is going up for an accident that I didn't even cause.... So I'm Switching to progressive there gonna give me a way cheaiper rate, and since my Accident I have not heard anything from AIG!!!! there service Sucks, I wouldn't recomend them besides that I had full coverage, but they didn't even add on there rental car service that was seperate.. and I though full coverage had everything added... |

We have also had extremely negative experience in dealing with AIG. The driver who was insured by AIG decided to go straight from left turn only lane and hit my car. From the first telephone conversation with AIG agent, it was clear that AIG did not want to accept any responsibility. I was rudely advised that it might take more than one month to investigate and the AIG agent even refused to provide me with her e-mail address. After waiting for 5 weeks she finally fabricated her version of my accident and refused to provide any source of information that had been used for the basis of her controversial decision. In order to comply with CA insurance code, she fraudulantly sent me the back dated e-mail and told me that she had sent the same information by U.S. mail which I had never received. Try to avoid AIG and unfortunately there is no negative rating for them.. |

I have had an ongoing homeowners claim which AIG agrees is covered under my policy. Yet after nearly a year, having been evacuated from our home we still cant get them to pay for our dog's kennel bill!! Let alone the actual costs associated with our claim. We are into six figures with our attorney and still can't get them to pay what we are entitled too under teh policy they sold us..............no problem taking our money just paying covered claims they refuse to do!!. |
